August Tip: This is the "dog days" of summer, when the temperatures are still high and the turf is going dormant. If you choose not to water to keep the turf green, keep in mind, to avoid drought damage the lawn should receive at least 1/2" of moisture every 10 to 14 days. This will not improve color but it will reduce the chances of turf damage that will require seeding in the fall.
